Better bed setup
My buddy Jim decided to make a post to feature his bed setup to accompany my bed setup. He has claimed in a comment from my previous bed setup post that his is superior. I disagree. And to prove so, I have taken the time with my state-of-the-art computer graphics software to develop a stunningly detailed representation of my bed layout with notes on why it is clearly better then Jim's.
Bed setup
I have 4 pillows for my bed. Up until about 2 weeks ago, I would push 3 into a corner, and just use 1 for my head…. possibly using another to wrap my arm around. Now, I surround my self with pillows on my queen bed. I used a really hi-tech graphics program to illustrate as you can see above. The body is me, and those small rectangles are my pillows

screws and rods
My cousin Alyssa just went through an amazing long corrective surgery for her scoliosis. It’s been less than a week since she has gone under the knife, and she is already walking on her own… she is so strong and brave, it’s really amazing. Another remarkable thing is this X-Ray of her back after the surgery…. 5 screws and 1 rod later. Click the picture to enlarge

Alien life form or AMS stricken Gustad?
So I had first experience of altitude sickness while attempting the summit of Cotopaxi in Ecuador. And it really sucked. I really should have allowed several more days of acclimatization. AMS = Acute Mountain Sickness. Large headache as if my head was going to explode, slightly bloody nose, easily run out of breath (I would get so out of breather after packing my bag, I would need to take a break from it!), and worst of all Loss of appetite!!! I lost about 8 pounds on the trip.Anyway, this is me coming down from Cotopaxi totally warn out, and with some bad sunburn on my nose. Don't get me wrong, the climb was amazing, and i had a great time.

David Blaine or super 13 foot tall giant?
Quick summary for those of you who don’t know what’s going on in this pic. Magician David Blaine, put him self in his personal aquarium filled with about 2,000 gallons of slightly salty water at 96 degrees for 8 days. It was in the center of Lincoln Center in New York City for the public to see at any time of the day or night. On the 8th day he attempted to hold his breath for close to 9 minutes to beat the world record, but didn’t make it… he was able to hold his breath for a little over 7 seconds. I think it’s because he was in such pain from the liver damage, skin problems, his liquid diet, and inability to sleep properly at night. So, I was wondering… what would happen in say 50-100 years when everybody forgets (hope not) about this magician… or if aliens come to earth and see this picture. They will think it’s some freakishly large human (see how large he looks compared to the other people near him) being kept in this embryonic like fetal state. It must be the only way we can keep this freakishly large 13 foot giant alive. And it seems they are keeping a fire alarm in the tank to…

George Lucas sighting
Across the street of my apartment is a bar/restaurant. A few days ago, I was looking out my window, and who do I see… George Lucas!

600 ton crane
So I look out my window and I see this MASSIVE all-terrain / movable crane. The Liebherr LTM1500 Crane
Telescopic bomb goes to 276 feet… then the lattice jib can be another 300 feet its self, but I think the one on it is about 150-200 feet. It weighs in at about 211,640 pounds. Able to lift almost 600 tons. That’s 1,189,000 pounds. Just the 3 counterweights I saw on it were a total of 45 tons.
It has 8 axles, and 7 have independent steering. I was able to find one for sale at 2.2 million bucks.
See more of the pics I took here. Don’t get confused by my camera lens… look for key objects to compare sizes with such as the cars, and people in the shots. (notice in this pic the size of the building behind it)
